Intermittent starting problem
Intermittent starting problem
Twice this week, my car has failed to start. No turnover, no click. Just dead silence. Moving key to start position instead killed all electrical power.
First time, I had left the headlights auto-shut off the night before. In the morning, I unlocked with the remote, headlights came on bright. I got in and turned on the radio while waiting for my kids to buckle up. When I moved the key to the start position, everything went dead. There was no cranking or clicking. All internal lights went dead. I opened the hood and checked battery connections. They were tight. Went back into the car and tried again, and it started immediately.
A few days later, the same thing happened again. I unlocked with the remote, got in and turned the key and accessories all came on fine, then turned to start and everything went dead. I was in a rush this time so I just took my wifes car. Came back home about 3 hours later and tried my car again. It started immediately.
Battery terminal connections are tight. Battery is less than 2 years old, and there are no problems with cranking - when there is power. Could this be a loose connection in the fuse box? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have killed two batteries in the two years i have owned my car, and one was an expensive Braille battery. Go to the dealership and have them check it out. They will more than likely replace it if it is dead.
+1.. but I'd rather have them give me cash back and buy a decent aftermarket battery. Get at least $100 on it..
