Interior Steering Wheel Lights (Audio and Cruise Modules)

Hello, everyone:

I need help with the below threat (G-100: DIY LED Interior Part III: Steering Wheel LEDs (Audio and Cruise Modules)

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/g-100-diy-led-interior-part-iii-steering-wheel-leds-audio-cruise-modules-763640/

I am stuck on picture #5 - I tried to use the torx (T-30) to drive the two bolts out, but unscucessful! It is too tight, and was unable to unscrew it.

Would someone help?

Thank you in advance! And drive safely!

does your t-30 bit fit in the opening securely? is your bolt stripped? are you sure you have a t-30? is it long enough to get a good fit in the hole? (giggidy)

t-30 is what i used and it worked fine for me. what sort of problem are you running into? need more leverage?

@sharksbreath

Yes, the T30 fits and is long enough to fit. I also tried to unscrew the right sided one, and was also unable to loosen the tight screw.

I just need to replace the lights as they are all burnt out. Cruise control, Mode, Volume, Channel, etc.

Thank you!

I took my airbag out when I wrapped the switch bezels with DI-NOC.

One of my sides came out easy, with the other I had to line up the T30 bit and tap it in with a hammer it was just slipping otherwise when I tried to take it out.

After tapping it in it unscrewed easily.

Be really careful.

One of mine is stripped. Therefore I'm stuck with an ugly steering wheel and completely burned out bulbs essentially forever.

Good luck, I had the toughest time with those. Ended up drilling through it just to get them off... for some reason it was installed with heated thread lock..
