Interior Door Dents/Dings
Interior Door Dents/Dings
I just got a 2007 Acura TL-S. I noticed the interior panel has a pressed in "dent" where the previous owner loved to rest his elbow (right of the lock, top trim, immediately below the window).
Also, I noticed that there is another "dent" in the interior of the rear panel (similar place; same material) that looks like a corner or an edge was pressed into it. The covering material isn't damaged, but it looks like the foam (?) underneath is deformed (and not coming out with time).
I was wondering if anyone has similar problems (I'm sure there are plenty of people) and what fixes, if any, you have come up with. I did a search, and the only solutions I found were either replacing the panel ($270 each from dealer) or taking it to an upholstery shop... anyone know roughly how much that costs?
Any help would be appreciated... If I get this figured out, I'll make sure to post results.
Thanks in advance.

I think the only option is to replace the panels, or DIY
I don't think it's too hard.. I'm almost positive the door panel foam/whatever the material is, is easily accessible on the inside of the panel.
