I just installed a cold air intake in my 04 tl and when i begin to accelerate ,it makes a kind of a squeeking sound but goes away at higher rpms. The squeeking sound sounds like it coming from the filter part of the intake.


Is this something to worry about??????

 

is it Touching anything?

 

im gonna have to look at it. its liek a hissing sound in the beginning of the gears.

 

Arite, i just checked it out, it loooks like everything is on tight and it doesnt look like its touching anything. It definitley only makes the hissing/squeeking sound at 2k rpm.

 

Do check things out to be safe. But, I will tell you now that you will be hearing strange sounds that you never heard before from your car. After installing my cai, I would WOT to get around traffic, and I would hear this loud bang !!!! What the heck was that ??? Happened a few more times on different occasions at WOT. I was too busy steering around slower traffic to give the weird noises too much thought. But, after traffic calmed down, it would bug me (ok, scare me) regarding that loud bang.

Later, I learn that it is the sound of the throttle plate slamming closed between WOT shifts !!!
