Intake manifold gasket upside down?

I've seen some threads talking about how the intake manifold gaskets can be put on upside down although I'm not sure if it applies to our 3G TLs. Does it matter which way is up on the factory gaskets? If so, is there a way to tell which way is up? I took mine out and am not sure which way was up (yeah, yeah) so am a little paranoid about putting it back together. I don't see any clear markings on the gaskets.

I don't believe they are marked which way up/down. Put mine back on the way it was on. They are metal. So you should be able to re use it. If your paranoid buy a new gasket. As long as We are talking intake plenum.

Yeah, it's the intake plenum. I just didn't know orientation would be a potential problem.

Orientation should not be a problem. And when work is done that requires those sorts of things to come off I always take pictures that way I know what I'm dealing with. But no to answer your question orientation should not be a problem

But no to answer your question orientation should not be a problem. when you put it back together if you get a vacuum leak or have a vacuum really you'll know it because the car won't run well, given it's no fun to do the job twice. Never hurts to ask though.
