Installing driver side CV axle. No new ABS RING : (
I have an Acura TL 2004 5at.
I bought a new half axle assembly from Cardone- 66-4221.
The problem is that the new one does not have an ABS ring. Should I just take the one off the old one and put it on the one?
I called the dealer and they do not sell that part.
Does anyone know where to find this part at?
Please help or should I just take the old one off im not to sure how hard it is to take the old one off.

Yea its kinda crazy if you ask me. From what I understand you can take the old one off. I am just afraid to brake it or something then I will be l literally screwed.
I heard that you can take them off and put them on with a torch. I am considering going to a mechanic for this unless I can find an ABS tone ring. I have searched high and low.

Contact the store where you purchased the axle as they may have one with the reluctor ring installed. If not, and you can't find a suitable replacement, guess it's time for some heat. Never did an abs ring, but put the new assembly in the freezer for a while, remove and then on the old axle, heat the ring in a circular motion and when it turns a blue color, tap it off. Apply more heat to make certain it's blue, then place it on the new axle, tap it in place.

The front wheel bearings listed above all share a
unique design feature. They are all double row angular
contact with a split inner ring. The distinctive feature on
these bearings is that one of the two seals on the
bearing has a built in magnetic impulse wheel. Caution
should be taken to make sure that the seal with the
ABS impulse ring is installed in the correct direction.
The side with the impulse ring needs to be installed
closest to the ABS sensor. If
it is installed backwards,
the ABS system will not function.
Just in case anyone was wondering there is no ABS ring on the axle I believe its already in the hub assembly for the front of the vehicle anyway. I did this install last week. It took about 45 mins because I am a NOOB haha. Cheers
