I am not sure what the switch is called, but did you make sure the switch inside the glove box to keep the trunk locked was not switched on?

I am having the same issue on my 04 TL. I have tried opening the trunk with the inside button with the switch in the glove box flipped either way. Does not open. You may want to also check the connections behind the switch in the glove box and the trunk button on the drivers side. Mine are both connected but still it won't open. Have you resolved the issue?

I'm having a similar set of trunk problems with my 06 TL; take a look at the followng thread for all of the gory and unhappy details.

Oh how I wish my problem had been resolved with the $60 trunk latch assembly

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/2006-tl-navi-trunk-lid-wont-open-758591/

I disconnected the battery of the car for 45 minutes to try to reset the MICU and you guys will not believe it but the %$%$#% trunk opener button worked for about ten minutes but stopped working about the time the nav system completed the power on alignment after restoring battery power

Wish I had a trunk with a key.

Does your remote still work? Is the problem just with the trunk pushbutton? Neither works for me.

I have the trunk opener on my keys, but that is the only method that works. It can be a pain at times because the car must be off for this button to work.

neither way works for me, I just ordered to detailed electrical manual so I can troubleshoot the harnesses. All my switch test fine and it looks like the problem is in the MICU. I'm going to try to jump the harness around the MICU so at least the inside button will work.

Wonder if Advanced Auto Parts can check the codes for me to confirm the MICU is bad

This happened to me once because my trunk was loaded and something was blocking the latch, preventing it from popping. If it's as simple as that, you can just open the pass-through and pull the little ring to manually open the trunk.

Did you get your problem with the inside trunk switch resolved? My inside switch also just stopped working. I can still open it up with the remote though. I just replaced the bulbs in the inside switch two days ago, wonder if that has anything to do with it. Maybe the switch has gone bad?

Problem fixed. Trunk switch has two led bulb sockets. When bought the car the 1st bulb was burnt out (switch didn't illuminate) and the second one was missing. So I replaced both, even thought the OEM parts diagram only shows one, I bought two and installed both. My mistake, the switch won't work with two bulbs installed. I took the second bulb out and now the switch works, it even lights up. No clue why the second bulb socket is there, but don't use.

Make sure the main switch is plugged in located in the glove box. After changing the ac filter some shops forget to plug it in if it happens to become unplugged

Number on schematic is 16.
Part Number is 35850-SEP-A01

BULB (14V 40MA)

Only install one otherwise the switch won't work.

First, Check to make sure the switch is connected. Sometimes when the dash cover is pulled out it doesn't get reconnected.

What is the part# to number 13 in the schematic. The actual switch itself broke when I changed my cabin filter
