Information Center Flickering Problem

Hey all, so I've been having trouble for about the last 3 months with my information center screen (not the MID in the gauge cluster, but the display above the Nav screen which shows HVAC readout, time, etc.). The issue is that the screen begins to flicker (like the backlighting is going out) after I've been driving for about twenty minutes.

Using the heater in the car seems to accelerate and augment the problem. If I rap on the plastic surrounding the screen, it will flicker back to full brightness for a moment, sometimes staying that way for another minute or so, and other times dimming right back to a varying level of light. Sometimes it dims so much that I can't even see what is on the screen, but then I'll go over a bump or rough patch and everything will pop back on the screen momentarily, only to dim back a moment or two later.

Any ideas what I am dealing with here? Should swapping in a new display fix the problem, or is it the actual wiring harness? I lean towards the display, as the screen can be black when I park the car, but when I return an hour later and start it back up, it is back to normal brightness. That just doesn't seem like a wiring short to me. Thoughts?

backlight for the LCD can definitely be the problem. It's on all the time while we drive not like other buttons.

my parents 01 odyssey's trip computer and center console clock both have burnt out backlights. I think the TL uses Electro Luminescent tech for the "HUD" display.

Thanks for the heads up about it being a potential Honda/Acura issue. I just want to be sure before I sink $250 into a display that I may or may not need. Does anyone know if this is a known issue in these cars?
