Info about transmissions

Info about transmissions

looking for info on the 07-08 type s auto transmissions. I have read alot that the v6 has issues with them going out. i just bought a 07 type s and the previous owner said he had the trans flushed and replaced the 3/4 pressure swith. what makes the transmissions go out in these cars. im a noob with these cars and if this has been covered before i appoligize but any info will help

also my car has 108xxx miles on it and the flush and switch was replaced at 100k

I don't think Honda transmissions are supposed to be flushed, I could be wrong tho. The 5AT in the 07-08 TL and TL-S is a modified version of the RL transmission. I have heard of very few 07-08 5AT failures compared to the 04-06 AT. There is quite a bit of info here about 3g transmissions. Use google to search and put acurazine as the last word.

This is probably the single most covered topic in here. If you do a search you'll have days worth of information to read. These things die for a variety of reasons with the big 3 being factory fluid, switches, and a 3rd gear exhaust circuit that's too small and wears the 3rd gear clutches on the automatic 4-2 downshift.
