Important:safety Recall

So i received that letter that everybody loves. SAFETY RECALL!!! YAYYYY

NO... so now its the windshield wiper fuse box and THE POWER STEERING likes to go apparently every now and then on all 2004 and 2005 TL models!!!

GREATTT!!! just throwing this out there because you will receive one letter then get it fixed then receive the next letter for the other problem. So when you bring the car to the dealer give them your VIN number and they can tell if your model TL (aka sexy bitch) has the other safety recalls.

Keep pimpin!!! boston out!

After I took my car in for these two recalls, I noticed that I could hear my engine louder when I am in the car. It's like they accidently moved something.

Is there a sound barrier that could have been moved during the repair?

When you take your car in the dealer for anything- they are supposed to enter the VIN in the computer-- and it tells what recalls are pending, and what have have done in the past.

Registering with acura as the owner will keep you updated on this info-- a few months ago~
they ran out of replacement hoses for a while and stopped sending out notices!!!
http://owners.acura.com/registration...erstepone.aspx
and 1-800-382-2238 x5 need VIN for both of those= do it today

We have recieved more hoses and we are sharing with other dealers if they need some so that we handle everyone. remember these recalls take time so american honda will cover a loaner car or rental if no loaners are available free of charge. your right, we are suppose to run a vin stat each and every time a car comes in. IT'S A LIABILITY ISSUE!

Thats ok- some of the techs work with race cars and know how to use an extinguisher.
Its located in their work area--- preserving their tools is important---- someone trained will grab a bottle and deal with it.
The rest of you should get out!!!!! Thats the smart thing to do- there is a lot of combustible material in a shop.
Just like in grade school- when the alarm rings, proceed in a safe and orderly fashion (rUN-PUSH) outside, until told its safe to go back in.

Can you imaging driving on the freeway when the hose fails--lose the steering AND flames lapping out the hoodl!!!!!

Do you know where Acura is at in the Notifications? Like a poster in the main thread, I've got an '07 TL-S (5AT) an dhave not gotten the letter or notification on MYAcura.

I understand that older model year's are getting priority. Just wondering how far along the notification are.

NO, sorry I have no way of finding out that info, you can still have it done if your car is invoived in the recall, you do not have to wait for the letter

get your car to the dealer asap - call and make an appointment and ask to make sure they have the parts for your year in stock. Just to make sure!

Its helpful if you can drop the car off at the end of the day- so it is cold and ready to work on first thing in the morning, not- let it cool for 2 hours then....

The exhaust gets very hot, and techs enjoy keeping the few remaining layers of skin.....

Hey Service Advisor
Thanks for your help with factory knowledge and statements- its nice getting the real story. There are a few techs and service writers that post occassionaly and read a lot of threads...but hide in the shadows
Appreciate your input!

Thank you, I am not as mechanically knowledgable as you but I know the dealership/warranty system really well and i am happy to help wherever I can. I owe my Livelyhood to Acura Owners, they allow me to support my family and make a good living so I will always give them 110% of what I got
