Igniter/Ballast Advice

Hey everyone! I have been dealing with the usual headlight issue for sometime now. My driver side headlight initially stopped working last year. At that time I replaced both bulbs and everything was fine. Earlier this year both headlights started to alternate which one would turn on. It was not that big of a deal because I could get both headlights to turn on with a couple of cycles of the light switch. Currently, the driver's side bulb turns on, but the passenger light does not. When I try to cycle the light switch both headlights remain off. I'm lucky if I get the driver's side bulb to turn back on.

I do not have the ability to work on my car where I am currently living. Unfortunately, I can not troubleshoot too much. I will be heading back home soon where I can do the work needed. I am thinking that the ballast or igniter is the root of the cause. Does anyone have any experience with both headlights going out? I know that both bulbs are still in working order (passenger turns on maybe 1 in 20 times). I am thinking of purchasing ballast and igniters for both sides and returning whatever I don't use.

I have read countless threads regarding this issue, but I have yet to run across anyone with both lights not working. Any input would be of great help.

-Chris

I believe your HIDs are going out. The two sides having problems appears to be a coincidence. You might want to try some aftermarket OEM HID assemblies from The Retro Fit Source. $200 for 2 igniter and 2 ballast. There's a chance they might be plug n play. Contact them for additional info.
