I had SRS light after swapping the seat. I didn’t do any research before hand and I damaged the 6pin connector because I was rushing it. So after swapping back the opds, sws (the black box under passenger seat with 3 airbag connectors l) and cleared the code with LAUNCH. The airbag light keeps coming back with dtc 81-61.

2004 manual doesn’t describe the error. RL manual does, but it wasn’t expecting id10t error. Long story short, the way i pushed those pins back wasn’t correct, it needs to go all the way in. Compare to other 2 connectors if you need. After that, I had 81-71 error saying it’s not calibrated. So the cad $30 HDS off amazon came handy. After pushing few button and drove it to 36km/h in the neighborhood. The thing is back to normal!

The HDS I bought needs to work with windows xp, so I had to reinstall it on my windows 10 laptop.

I got lucky the 2012 thinkpad supports IDE mode, comes with legacy boot, although the battery only lasts 10mins or less I was able to complete it.
