I am at a loss!!!!
I am sorry tried to find my thread i started but couldnt so please dont bash me lol. I have a 2004 acura tl automatic 95k miles. I started having issues about 2-3 weeks ago. I was driving everything fine got to a stop light stepped on the gas it would not rev past 2000 rpms the more i push on gas the more it "bogs" down , never died on, able to get it home, Did the whole google search found stuff on the APP sensor so replaced it and tightened the slack on the cable ran and drove fine! 5 days later acted up again! so i disconnected the battery to see if resetting the ecu might help and it drove fine for a few days so at this point im stumped. No check engine light has ever come on even when it was bogging down! So i cleaned the egr valve and it drove fine again for a few days and now today coming home from work once again it acted up again when i stepped on gas. does anyone have a clue of what it could be?? Side not the car was in an accident in june and hit in the left front of the vehicle all suspension and air box was replaced, i had a cold air intake then had the shop put the stock air box back on. I dont know if thats useful or not. Any help would be appreciated because I dont want to throw money away on stuff that isnt going to fix it. I have a feeling going to have to take it to a honda shop cause without having any check engine light on I havent the slightest!

Sorry that the APP sensor didn't fix it. I hope someone else here with more experience can help.

Ask your local acura dealer? they should be able to tell you what exactly is going on with your car. More than likely they'll ask that you bring your car in to them so they can do a full inspection of your car. They inspect everything from mechanical to electronic, interior and out. They tell you after thurrough inspection naything and everything that is wrong with your car and what needs to be maintained. They also offer to do such maintainance. Not sure of the price though.

Yea it does it mainly under load but when it does act up in park or neutral it does not even get to 5k rpm it redlined between 4-4500 rpm. Checked air filter its old but seems stiff. Either way going to replace it. Going to see if I can get the mechanic at the body shop I work for to look at it if not going to take it to the dealer for diagnosing. Thanks for everyone's time hoping to have this issue solved....

Check the connection to the APP sensor. unplug it and clean the connection and then put it all back together. Also reset the ECU and unplug the battery at the same time. Hopefully thats your fix

Ok so I took car to dealer today the car didn't act up so they couldn't even tell me what's wrong! Service guy told me since it didn't act up and even when it does and no cel is on it could be anything!!! From a bad wheel speed sensor , throttle body, catalytic converter etc. I have no clue of what to do anymore and don't want to throw money at it in hopes that I get lucky and buy the right part

It's pretty sad when these so called techs are so helpless they can't do anything with it unless the ECU points the problem out for them.

Exactly! If it threw a code I can have the mechanic put it on our diagnostic machine at the body shop I work for. It's ridiculous I'm sure I am not the first this is happening too or has happened to. I can't just change every part that "may" be causing the issue don't have that kind of money. I'm dumbfounded...

got any vaccum leaks?

A vacuum leak at worst is going to cause a high idle. The only exception would be a huge leak at the MAP sensor which is just about impossible. Under full throttle there is no vacuum so if it were a vacuum leak the car would still run somewhat normally. Vacuum leaks are not intermittent.
If your machine at work will do live data, you can do some trouble shooting starting with long term fuel trim. Also, the rev limiter is set to 4,500rpm in park and neutral, that's normal. When it won't rev, does it sound like a rev limiter? Any weird noises? Any pinging when it refuses to rev? Any rattling when you first start it or while driving?

No live data on our diagnostic at my shop that's why I took it to dealer in hopes of they having some idea even without a code :/. No weird noises at all. When it acts up its while driving It won't rev and doesn't want to go. When it happens it does sound like it hits the rev limiter initially but when you give it gas it just bogs down real bad. Never died on me just acts like it wants to when I give it more gas when it's acting up. Hope this makes sense lol

It sounds somewhat similar to a plugged exhaust but it's intermittent. If a chunk of cat is rattling around and sticks just right it can plug up the exhaust until he lets off and then fall back into another space.
Live data will tell the tale.

Still battling the issue. Lasted almost 10 days before it acted up. I just can't seem to get the car to do it and since I can't no mech can help me ugh! I'm getting to the point of trading it in...
