I drive an 05 TL 6 speed, my problem is as follows:

in gear( any gear) while i'm rolling, if i just punch the gas its as if the car loses traction ? but thats not whats happening. The rpm shoot up 1000rpms hold there for 1 sec and drops to normal, its as if it catches traction, but i know i'm not losing traction cause at 80km/h that it ain't gonna happen with are cars. My mechanic checked it out and told me its not my clutch, what do you think ?

 

Can something be slipping internally?

 

I'm 99% sure it's the clutch. Maybe not the disk but could be the pressure plate. My clutch did that to me last year.

does the pressure plate effect the gears from engaging, like when the cluutch is finished ?
