how many miles is too many?

only hting more sport in acura's line-up is the 2007 TL-S which has a 3.5L motor instead of the 3.2L motor and it puts out a bit more horsepower. Do all of the service to it and it will last a pretty long time

Of course at 16 the insurance coverage on a TL-S would be HUGE.
IMHO, if the car is cared for, 95k is just getting broken in. Honda gasoline engines are legendary. 200k easy.

The first real maitenance comes at 105- so plan on saving $1000 up to take care of it.
Other than that- regular oil changes and go to a high performance driving school- also called track days at your local auto racing track- and you will be fine
The TL is a very fast car and should be treated with respect,
otherwise dad will trade it in for a low power junker for you to learn in.

OK- lets think beyond the 1/4 mile and realize how many of us have~ accidentally~ found the high side of 100 or even better- how fast you can go on a twisty road, you know- the kind with jumping trees! or an on ramp and you discover debris or car at low speed cuts into your path, or blowout at speed....
So any/all of us, especially a young new driver, should attend a HPDE type driving school-
You learn car control and respect for its limits and where those are, all in a
reasonably safe, controlled environment, with no oncoming traffic!

I have two kids just into driving age (one licensed, one permitted). I asked our Insurance Agent whether the HPDS would lower the rates for my young drivers. The answer was basically "No". This is because they are covered on our policy which is already the lowest base rate offered by our insurer.
However, if either of them carried their own insurance, then the HPDS (as well as grade point average, etc) would help keep rates a bit lower.
Regardless, I think the HPDS is a great idea for less experienced drivers. Skid control, accident avoidance, emergency manuevering, etc can be practiced in a safe and (I assume) fun environment. I mean, who among us wouldn't love to get it up to 40 or 50 mph and loop it around on a wet skid pad?
Around here, it is a one day course at Lowes Motor Speedway and costs ~$370 per person. The school provides appropriatly outfitted cars.

95,000 miles is not too many IMHO. However, price in a timing belt/water pump change before you buy it. Do that and make sure the other maintenance was done, and you'll be fine for a long time.
