How hot do your seats get from heated seats?

My drivers side seat was only getting slightly warm on the high position while my passenger seat was not getting any amount of heat with the button on high. No one was sitting on passenger side seat (i dono if they are pressure activated..)

I'm curious too as its only recently starting to dip below 50's on some nights. I've only used LOW so far.

I do not know for sure, but I seem be under the impression that they are pressure sensitive....at least the passenger seat is. I have tried many times over the years to warm the passenger seat before the wife gets in the car with no luck.

imo low is just warm enough to give you the impression someone was sitting in it.

high is when you can actually feel it. feels good on a cold morning. Of course my idea of a cold morning in socal is 40-50 f.

On my '04 TL; high seems to be scalding hot. I only use low. Then again, I live in Southern California where I think I drove in under 40 degree weather once.

08 TL here...low=warm, slightly
high=quite warm, too warm to leave on for long.

The nights have been dipping to high 40's here lately. On low after like 10 mins on the road the heat builds up relatively good for me.

Either setting takes about 5 minutes to really feel it. Low is comfortable for about 10-15 minutes for me before I turn it off. High is good for about 6 minutes for me. The wife usually leaves it on High the entire time she is in the car. I really hate how long it takes to warm up though. We also own an Equinox and the seats are hot within a minute.

Do the heated seats alternate in the amount of heat it gives off? when mine is on "hi" it gets hot for 10 minutes then it cools down and is not as hot as it was. It this normal operation or is mine malfunctioning?

Pretty sure they have thermostats...preventing them from being on high heat, unfortunately our bodies are 98.7° and after sitting in them for awhile, can't even tell they're on.
I'd like to disable whatever causes it to turn off automatically, I'd rather just turn them off manually if needed.
I use them in the Summer, feels good on the back on long drives home.

I know you could disable them in the Accord...just never got around to it.

I just came across this:
http://v70r.com/forums/topic/17225-m...-heated-seats/

I know some will caution messing with a heated seat thermostat...but I like the idea in the last post.
Bypassing the thermostat with a dial thermostat...set your own temperature.

I'm going to begin looking for a dial thermostat...curious where to find the originals within our seats or near them.

Sigh.....Doesn't anyone read the owner's manual?

High cycles, low is constant. pg 96 (2004 OM)

"In HI, the heater turns off when the
seat gets warm, and turns back on
after the seat’s temperature drops. It
continues to cycle as long as you
leave it set on HI. The HI indicator
stays on as a reminder that you have
the heater on.
In LO, the heater runs continuously.
It does not cycle with temperature
changes.
"

Hi is scorching for me in less than 5 minutes.

And you know the passenger seat only has heat on the seat, no heat on the seat back due to the side air bag sensors.

Pretty sure they're always enabled though and not disabled due to low weight?

Yep, but the OPDS sensor for the side airbag system is in the passenger seat back...

Keyword: "sensor"

Both seat backs have a side airbag in them....The passenger seat back also has the sensor...

Low setting: I can barely feel it, sometimes I can't even feel it.
High setting: After about 10 minutes it gets so hot it feels like it is burning my ass through my pants so I have to turn it off.

So my 06's driver's seat takes about 15-20 minutes to warm up (just warm), and if I just start it on low it takes about 5-10 minutes to get hot. I think something is wrong with the hi option...what should I check?
