Hit a curb hardd

MY front tires have a no tread at all i was going about 45, slowing down to turn into a street and my brakes locked up cuz thier was ice, and hit the curb with the right wheel at about 25, the whole tire bent, and i coudlnt go faster then 10mph bc the steering wheel was wayyy of center, and it would turn bye its self verry rapid, and was making screeching noises, luckly i only had to drive a half mile to my house and get it towed to a mechanic shop. Any ideas wat happend?

Going from experience...

Lower control arm.
Lower control arm mounting point on subframe.
Hub/disk.
Rack.
Tie rod.
Axle.

If you hit a curb and it drives like you say, the rack is damaged but they will try and say it's not. Do yourself a favor and get them to replace it the first time. There's a good chance you're looking at a new subframe.

Did the tire blow out?

On the bright side, if you were ever planning on installing a larger front sway bar, now is your chance to save the $300 in labor.

Prolly got what you deserved ... bald tires on ice and going too fast ... just glad you didn't jump the curb and kill some innocent bystander. Braked locked up because of bald tires and going too fast for conditions. ... not ice.

Mine was an ABS malfunction and I hit the curb with an impact speed of about 10mph. I think the bill came out to $6K for all the parts I mentioned.

Believe it or not, they will look at the condition of your car, even the interior cleanliness to make the decision to replace certain parts or not. I was told that since it looked like I took very good care of my car they threw in some extras like a free rear bumper replacement due to some scratches that "could've" been from the accident and a few other odds and ends things. It's worth your time to make your car look nice even though it sounds weird.

The thing is i bought new tires already cooper zoen sports for 700$, and it would take a 4days to get in from online, so i didnt have a choice. And my insurance is saying i tried recking my car, saying all that mechanical damage is not from going 15mph, they said about 40 but it was really 20-15mph.

Do you have pictures? I know what 10-15mph looks like because I've done it before. Like I said, mine required replacing the subframe and the rim was in 10 pieces.

oh rly?

I curbed my car and the repair bill was $5+K and I had already slowed down to about 20mph when I hit it trying to avoid an idiot who ran a red while I was making a left turn on a green arrow.. caught the curb with the right front of the car and that was all she wrote

new bumper
new subframe (used)
new left lower control arm
new A/C condenser
new body panel gaskets
new tow hook
new front exhaust pipe
new splash shield
new left quarter window (retinted and used)
repair right fender
repair right door
repaint entire right side of car (bush or something got it)

How long have you lived in Michigan? It's the middle of Dec and you are running bald tires?

I wonder if they do look at your tires and see they are bald. Can you be denied coverage for something like that?

My sister had a boyfriend give her a breakup present by doing something similar to her Teg. It was never the same after that.

Good luck.

At a minimum you can get a ticket for it.

I agree that it will probably need a subframe. They are all aluminum and bend very easily in curb type accidents. New ones run about $900 just for the subframe. Insurance companies try to go used for the most part.
