High beam knock sound?

Hey guys,

I noticed while sitting in the TL (06) playing around with the high beam lever, that when i pull the lever towards me, temporarily turning on the high beams i hear a "knocking" sound. Is this normal? Maybe it's the relay i'm hearing? It does this while the car is off. Anyway just wondering if any of you have heard this sound too. Feedback appreciated...thanks

I think what you are hearing is the shutter which, when actuating the lever on the steering column, alternates between high and low beams. Very normal.

Yup the Bi-Xenon HID headlights means that low and high beam are produced from the same bulb but just that a shutter blocks the top part of the light when using low beam and moves out of the way when using high beam.
