Angry HID's

Can anyone plz tell me what's the easiest way to findout whether its the ballast or the bulb that's gone bad?? My right side bulb went,so I thought it was a great time to upgrade my lights so I switch them out for the 6000's.Went through all the trouble of taking off the bumper just to get to them, anyhow installed them and they worked perfect, hooked up my LED fogs and the right side wouldn't light?? The bulb has been out for a week now and just the other nite it was lit?? Turned it off and back on again and would not light, Has anyone had this happen before or better yet know how to fix this,I don't want to order a ballast if I dont need one??

The same thing is happening to me with the regular bulb on the right side, but they said to switch the ballast from the left to the right and if it lights up then its the ballast. I haven't tried that, i'm not mechanical savvy but it seems like it would be a good test

Check all of your connections, too. If it works intermittently, it may be a bad connection.
As mentioned, switching bulbs and/or ballasts will help to isolate the problem.

What dwb said! It's trial & error my friend. Also, your ballast may have some moisture in it

Majority of time when your turning your headlights on, you would hear a faint chiming, which means your ballast is turning on. Easy way to check if your ballast or bulb is gone, is pop your hood and let someone stand near the headlights and turn the car on, if they hear the ballast engaging then your ballast is fine and your bulb is finished. Key thing to remember never touch the bulbs with your bare hands, use a cotton cloth if you can
