HID Bulb in Fogs Not Lighting

Hello all! I have a 2008 TL (non-navi, base) and I installed the Opt7 35W HID kit into the fogs. The passenger side lights up bright and right away, however, the driver side doesnt light up sometimes, and I'd have to turn the fog lights on/off a few times for the bulb to start lighting up. I also noticed that the drivers side bulb is way less bright compared to the passenger side. Any ideas on why this is happening?

he bought an aftermarket kit to install in the lower fogs.

OP, did the aftermarket kit come with a relay?
it's important to install a relay, so you wont get issues like this.

^^^what he said, but even with a relay it can be problematic sometime especially it rain for long period time. I had TRS morimotto 35w kit along with their relay harness and the ballast keep blowing out, I had switch to LED bulb and never had any problem since.

No the kit didn't come with a relay. Is installing a relay fairly easy? Also, have any of you guys heard any success of an HID kit without a relay on the the 07/08 models? I'm thinking if it'd be worth replacing the ballast or just save up and get some good quality LED bulbs. Thanks everyone for the help too!

relay is easy to install

LED won't be as bright but definitely doable without relay if you prefer. up to personal preference really.

I went with these H8 XML2 LED (pair) - H8 - LED Bulbs - All Products should come next week so I will review them then. 3 year warranty, only ones I have found that provide option to match OEM HID and realistic lumens that should still be plenty bright.
