Hesitation in VTEC, flashing check engine light
Hesitation in VTEC, flashing check engine light
It seems when the car gets into VTEC the RPM hang/hesitate then I get a flashing check engine light..
Random misfire
I am unable to upload a video format shows to be mp4.
07 TL-S / manual
New OEM NGK plugs,
New VTEC solenoid
Did all the resets suggested after searching the forum..
Issue with the set of OEM or NGK coil packs
Entire head was serviced and exhaust valves replaced
Due to an engine overspeed when upshifting.

this CANT be. on UP SHIFT's, the computer protects the engine by cutting the injectors at rev limit...
HOWEVER, on DOWN shift's, there is no protection and you will mechanically over-rev the car.. ie; piston's kissing the valves.
ask me how i know...
LOL from experience...
I mechanically over-rev'ed by down shifting into 2nd from third at 80mph.
the pistons hit the exhaust valves.
Cannot determine if the timing is on if you don't also show the mark on the crank pulley, the white mark on the edge of the crank pulley should line up with the big arrow on the lower timing cover also.
And read the pending codes using an OBDII diag device since you received flashing CEL. That'll determine what's going on.

I replaced all the coil packs since I was told it could be the problem

Came off the clutch too quick and stumped the gas in neutral , saw RPM it about 8k was attempting shifting from 3-4.. coould have been the same as you it happened so fast
The odd thing is I had the heads removed sent to a machine shop ( all exhaust valves replaced ) , guy states the Pistons looked good no visible damages.
The reading seems to be inconsistent from what I have been told, difference when car is cold and warmed up..
This sucks
Wish I could upload the video
