Help w/'08 fog light assembly removal

Checked the 3G garage. Only saw threads on how to upgrade the bulbs and install fog lights on older models. All I want to do is remove the trim piece that runs along the grille vent but can't find the catch to release it so I guess I'm stuck with removing the entire fog light assembly but can't find directions on how to remove it in my Haynes manual (which has proven useless so far) nor in my Service Manual. Like I said, all I really want is the trim but if I have to take the whole assembly out to get it, so be it. Any help on this?

Are you talking about the chrome piece on the bumper bezel? If so, that just pulls off.

On my 08 Type S , with the bumper off, there were 2 phillips heads screws on the top, 4 snap style clip mounts, which are part of the complete fog lamp/grill assembly, on top which must be released and 3 more of the same snap style clips on the bottom that must be un snapped. Then whole fog lamp grill cover comes out. I don't know if you can reach them from underneath the bumper to do this or not.

The only way it would pop right off is if I pulled the heck out of it which I definitely comtemplated the more frustrated I got, but I don't want the thing not to be able to snap back on. The lower portion is easy to get a butterknife through and work it free. The top has some kind of catch on the inside of the trim that won't budge. Unless you're telling me firmly pulling that sucker won't hinder re-installation, I guess I'll be taking Rider's steps on removing the entire thing.

I hate to dredge up this old post but have yet to find something on this forum that tells me exactly how to replace a broken fog lamp assembly/passenger side. The dealer quotes an outrageous price for the part and just as much to do the work Have searched and searched....and searched but all the threads are in reference to replacing bulbs. I ordered the part through Rock Auto for $140 and hope I can DIY this weekend. I've read remove the bumper, remove just the plastic black trim around the fog lamp assembly, go in through the wheel well area, etc...

Own a 08 TL-S...thanks for any assistance someone/anyone can provide.

First of all I'm glad I'm no the only one having this problem. I tried Delray Acura's approach but that didn't get me anywhere either.

Here is a PDF on how to install a spoiler kit but it also shows you step by step on how to remove your bumper and bumper trims... A complete thorough search will find anything!

Honda has restricted our access to the installation instructions, so you will need to click here and then enter the information for your vehicle, which will take you to the list of installation instructions and then you can select the PDF you need.
