Question HELP!! Question on Warranty

I just bought my first Acura TL today, its a 06 with 75,000 miles and the dealer offered me the option of buying a 5 year or 100,000 Mile Powertrain Warranty.I'm 50/50 on it the car seems to drive great, but i dont want to be stuck 2 years from now paying for a New Transmission or something. I have until tomorrow to deside and the cost is $799.00, PLEASE give me input on what you would do. Thanks Guys!!

$800 not a bad price for peace of mind, but check to be certain of the time frame, 5yr/100,000 from original in service date, or does the clock start ticking when you received delivery. Also make certain of the coverage and any deductible.

That does sound like a good deal. I bought a CPO 06 TL last month and was quoted $1750 to have warranty until 7yr/100k. I don't buy extended warranties on principle, so I don't know how low I could have gone.

I bought my 05 last year and I got the 7 yr 100,000 mile warranty. The main reason I boought it was cuz my bro did the same thing with a nissan that he bought and with a couple weeks left on the warranty, his engine went on him and they replaced it for him. He only paid like 25 bucks out of pocket.

Congrats on the new TL!
I believe the extended warranty is worthy, as well. These cars have a ton of electrical systems in them and it makes sense to be covered. Plus, my 2G had a tranny failure at 94K. Luckily, it was covered by Acura but I didn't want to take that chance with my 3G
