Unhappy HELP! Left Moonroof Open!

Like an idiot..........I left my moonroof open last night. And sure enough, it rained like crazy as well.

I have vacummed out the entire car, but I am worried about electronic damages. So far, things seem to be fine, but I am very nervous.

Please tell me any suggestions that any of you may have to ensure that I am taking the right steps!

Thanks guys!

You have lived one of my worst fears. Was it completely open or just tilted? I'd be amazed if everything still works. There was a post a little while ago about a coke being spilled that fried everything and another one about a car wash mishap after a windshield replacement. Good luck.

Air it out real good. Place some fans to blow into the affected areas. If it's humid run your A/C like crazy. It will dehumidify.
You could go so far as to pull the seats out and the carpet.
Good luck.

dang its my worst fear too! when it rains i always double check to see if my windows are up..but at night, its always garage park so i dont have to worry

ur best bet is get it vacuum or shampoo out to remove odor smell (cause rain water inside a car isn't a pleasent smell)

These cars do everything but wipe their owner's asses.

One would think that the roof would close itself if rain is detected when the car is shut off and parked.

Previous posted said, IF the car could detect that, it'd be cool.

TLs have rain sensing wipers...

So there's no "IF" to it.

How difficult would it have been for Acura to tie that circuit into a relay for the moonroof?

If a kid poke his head outside though the moonroof, the sensor malfuction or liquid detect. What is the outcome? You think Acura would take that chance?

If the car was stopped, keys removed, temp dropped 2 degrees in 2 min, no weight detected in the seats since the doors were lasts closed.. I think it would be a safe bet, that it was rain and not spit. Plus, if something was in the way it would reverse and open like the windows.

But then acura wouldnt make any money from replaceing your carpet, seats, and electronics because you made a mistake.

Depending on the amount damage check with insurance. Insurance does cover stupidity (pouring gasoline down a fireplace from the roof, and then throwing a match down it), it covers accidents too... Compressive might cover that...

You will pay for it in the long run... Maybe not.

Reggie, you have done just about all you could have done, hopefully it was very warm where you're at, thus allowing things to dry faster. Luckily it was just rain, not a flood or sea water.

Back in February when I fist got the switchblade, I came out to my car, the windows were down about 2" and the sunroof just barely opened. The pisser was that it was the day after that sleet and ice storm we had. Thankfully it was still cold as shit, so nothing melted I was able to clean everything up and knock on wood have not had any problems. OK, now that I've posted this, something is going to be wrong in the morning.

I think my son my have been playing with the key fob, he tells me no, so I believe him.

I thought that rain sensors increased wiper speed on the TL (as opposed to activating automatically).

Perhaps they don't...
