Does anyone have an idea what would trigger the multifunction indicator lamp, and is it an easy fix?

Is that the "Check engine" light, the VSA-off("!") indicator, brake indicator or a message envelope in the Multi-Information Display (MID)/Maintenance Minder?

Oh, if it's the MID, you can read the message, and display any stored error code(s) using the MID buttons if you have an '07-'08 Type-S. The process is in the owner's manual.
