Unhappy Help!

I have a 2007 Acura TL (non s-type with navi) it was buried in the snow for about 1 week and I had not moved it in 2 weeks. I start up the car and it makes a funny straining noise, similar to a dial up connection (from back in the days of 1998) and the noise changes as I turn the steering wheel. Has this ever happend to anyone else? I would like to figure out what is wrong before I take it to the dealer, my bumper to bumper warranty is up, but I still have another year for the drive train manufacturer warranty. All answers are greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Sounds like power steering. Check your PS fluid level. Also, there is a TSB to replace the PS hose and another to replace an O-ring. You can call your dealer and give them your VIN and they should be able to tell you if the TSBs have been done on your car.

The PS hose is a recall, no charge if it hasn't been done:

Vehicle Make / Model: Model Year(s):
ACURA / TL 2004-2008

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 08V091000
Summary:
HONDA IS RECALLING 273,000 MY 2004-2008 ACURA TL VEHICLES. PROLONGED HIGH UNDER-HOOD TEMPERATURES MAY CAUSE THE POWER STEERING HOSE TO DETERIORATE PREMATURELY CAUSING THE HOSE TO CRACK AND LEAK POWER STEERING FLUID.
Consequence:
POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKING ONTO A HOT CATALYTIC CONVERTER WILL GENERATE SMOKE AND POSSIBLY LEAD TO AN UNDER-HOOD FIRE.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW HEAT RESISTANT POWER STEERING HOSE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 28, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ACURA AT 800-382-2238. THIS IS AN EXPANSION OF A PREVIOUS RECALL (PLEASE SEE 07V551).
Notes:
ACURA RECALL NO. Q73. CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), OR GO TO
HTTP://WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV.

A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin, not a recall:

Make / Models : Model/Build Years:
ACURA / TL 2004-2007

Service Bulletin Number : 07-060
NHTSA Item Number : 10024238
Summary Description :
POWER STEERING MOANS OR WHINES WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD.

Use Honda OEM fluid or make sure it specifically says "meets/exceeds Honda OEM PS fluid specifications". Our PS fluid is different than most and you need to be sure to use the correct stuff. DO NOT use automatic transmission fluid!!
