Sounds like your car may be low on coolant.

Burp the coolany system.... Take the cap off... Top off with the right coolant... Start engine.... Turn temp to high, fan speed low, let fans come on twice.... Shut off engine... Top up if necessary....

Leave cap on loosely with rags around cap to absorb overflow....

Ifthisdoesnt work you may need other reapairs... Themostat stuck open perhaps.... (New thermostat needed)

From: KCMO Burbs
- Burp coolant
- Check the HCV (Heater Control Valve) for movement and leaks

Its the heater control valve. I had the same problem. Car would blow heat while moving and if I was stopped at a stop sign or at a red light then it would blow cold air. One day the heater control valve broke spilling coolant everywhere. I had it towed to the dealer and they said it was the heater control valve that broke. They replaced that and now the heater works like it should.
