Headliner rattle is driving me crazy!!!

There's a rattle in the headliner somewhere just to the passenger side of the sunroof opening. If I press on the area, it squeaks like crazy.

I tried adding additional velcro to insulate it, but it just won't stop. I really don't like the idea of the dealer ripping my headliner out.

Anyone experienced this one? Just when I though I was lucky to have a rattle-free TL

I have a rattle in the moonroof, it's the sliding cover thingy, when I push against it the rattle goes away. I'm going to put some felt tape on it during my super quietification of the TL (DIY to come one of these days!)

there is an easy fix for this....if you pull down the headliner toward the rear opening of the roof, you will see that the fabric is attached by glue in various spots...inbetween thoes spots is where the noise is comming from...i simply placed some padding inbetween the liner fabric and the part its glued to and it stopped....if you pull down the liner and press it with your fingers you will hear the noise and know what i am talking about....

I could not get that squeaking sound to go away, the interior headliner was replaced twice in my car. The first time, the problem went away for about 6 months and returned. So far, it has not come back and its been about 9 months. The headliner is made up of two layers of material which became "unglued" as the dealer explained it.

Glad I'm not alone on this one!

In my TL's 4 years, I've had a grand total of 16 service department visits between 3 dealers for roof rattle issues.

My 06 TL is approaching 28k miles and the headliner started to rattle all of sudden. I never had this problem before (had enough of other problem lol) and I am not sure if I should attempt to fix it myself or perhaps let my dealer deal with it? Does anyone have any pictures explaining the fix process? I would really appreciate any help as I would rather fix it myself then let my dealer rip the car apart.
