Question Broken Tire Pressure Monitor

Hi people,

I was looking for a little bit of direction of what to do. I had some new tires installed on a 2006 TL. The person doing the install was a friend of mine at a different dealership.

While changing the tires he broke the tire pressure monitor on one wheel.

How much do you think one of these tire pressure monitor things cost? How much labour do you think is involved in having one of these replaced?

Thank you in advance for any help...

looks like item 13 on this page http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

Labor involves dismount/install sensor/remount and balance tire. There may be a procedure needed to teach the car the new sensor. Not sure about your TL but I know my wife's CR-V (just another Honda) requires a trip to the dealer to teach the car about a new sensor. The TL uses a different system than the CR-V so hopefully you can avoid that expense.

It might not actually be broken. I have one of mine cracked from a tire change. The black plastic outer casing is completely broken off of one side of the sensor. Just cosmetic as long as the electronics are not damaged. My cracked senosr has been working perfectly for the past 21,000 miles.
