Headlights, Locks, and acceleration ?

First I just want to say quick that I'm so glad I found this site! I've been referencing information on here for about a year but just signed on as a user today. Anyway I think this is a great resource and appreciate the 'community' feeling with other TL lovers..
I noticed that sometimes people will post questions that I've already read answers to on other pages so please note that I've done some extensive reading before putting this out there..
>HID's- one of mine is out and I've read tons of information about replacing them yourself, what after market bulbs to buy etc. I should have a new set here in the next few days and just want to know- has anyone replaced these without removing the bumper? That just seems pretty excessive to me and this weekend when I was rotating my tires I checked and feel like I can get clean access through the wheel wells without doing all that. I know about disconnecting the battery and not touching the bulbs etc, just want to know if I really need to go about removing the front bumper- am I missing anything with this?
>Power locks- recently (around the same time as the headlight) my locks stopped functioning correctly; they dont lock when I go into reverse, and they dont all unlock/ lock with one click as they did previously. I checked the fuse and its good. Any other suggestions..?
>Hesitation/ acceleration: Ive read Several posts on this and it's definitely a common problem- I have the same issues; infrequent hesitation and shaking during acceleration around 35-40mph. spark plugs are new, I use premium gas always, fuel injection cleaners with oil changes, etc. The most common suggestions are replacing the APP sensor, 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches, and something about ATF fluid. I'm going to flush the tranny this weekend and change out the filter so I thought I would ask for tips on this as well.. should I do the sensor or switches first, just do all of it ASAP or what?? My garage access is limited at my buddies house so I try to make the best use of my time there.
Anyway thanks for reading! I'll take any advice and tips you guys can offer and sincerely appreciate your time! I'll try to respond to some of the other more redundant threads also with issues I've dealt with already so we can keep this forum as useful as it has been!
Thank you...

On the power locks, did you change any settings in the MID? There are settings in the MID that affect how the power locks work, sounds like your settings were altered somehow, you should check them out.

>yes sorry guess I should have mentioned that: 2004TL, 120,000miles- I bought it off a lease return at 63,000 and have done everything myself or went to the dealership for anything I couldn't handle. They want over $500 for the lights ($200per bulb+$150 labor) and there's no way im doing that..
I didnt know about the MID settings for the locks so Ill check that out tonight..

This is really in the wrong TL model section. This is the 4G model which is the 2009-present TL. You need the 3G TL section.
