headlight problem

so I have 04 tl. I had a headlight bulb go out on passenger side it faded and turned purple so I know it was the bulb. so I took it to the shop to have it replaced only charged a hour labor an 100 for parts both bulbs great deal I thought.figured i should change both since they already had the bumper off. the lights were great for about a week no problems at all. then the passenger side wasn't coming on and driver side was fine. now both lights will only come on sparaticaly. don't know where to begin both passenger side and driver side work when they want to. all help is appreciated.

well I took it back up to the shop. and said that they works have to charge me to look at it so I said no thank you . I probably could have just done them myself and saved the headache cheaper is not always better. so I guess when I have a some free time I'll take the bumper off . after reading more it sounds like a blast issue now? does it make since they would both mess up cause of bulbs?

I replaced my bulbs about a year ago, and then started having both sides work intermittently. Sometime one would work, other times the other would work, sometimes neither would work. Occasionally if I flashed the lights on and off I could get one or both working. I recently replaced the Ignitors and haven't had any problems for a week now.

it could be the headlight switch. Im having similar issues and Im going to replace the switch. It looks like a fairly easy install. maybe 30 minutes of time.

I replaced the headlight switch and it fixed all the issues. Took about 30 minutes. It's not an expensive part. Give it a try before spending so much time and money on ballasts or ignitors.
