headlight problem

so i was replacing my stock hid's with replacement 8000k bulbs. did the driver side first to get the harder one out of the way . but on the passenger side the black cover that is over the connector was just hanging there and wasnt on tight so after i was done i tried to get it to stay on but it isnt a tight fit. is it ok to leave it on there even though its not really on good?

No, it's not okay. Cause the next time you wash your car your headlights will condensate.

isnt there a rubber seal on it too- pretty important to keep everything sealed or it will cause major expensive problems

8000k is a bit too purple too see on the road very well with- be careful on dark roads. use them all the time to get 100 hours of use to stabilize color and brightness

this is a bit off topic but i was wondering if the color for the hid depends on the bulb or the ballast?
