Lound humming from tire winding?

I know this issue's been brought up in the past with several suggested problems and solutions, but I couldn't find anything that was resolute to my issue.

Since my last oil change (a week ago), I notice an unbearable humming noise that keeps winding up and down with acceleration and deceleration only after about 30-40 mph. It sounds as if the tire or motor is spinning way fast and has an air pocket going through it somewhere.

It is not an old noise, because my radio typically is loud and cancels out all the noises from outside; however, this one I can hear even when my radio is past my usual loudness level.

I had the service manager go for a ride and he said nothing sounded suspicious and just left it as that.

I am wondering if anyone has ran into this issue and may know what it is and if it is something I can check/diag myself.

Were your tires rotated during the oil change?
If so, then the noise is probably related to the tires now on your front wheels. Check to see that your tires are going in the right direction if they are directional.
If not, check the tires for bulges or visible damage as well as wear, i.e. how close the tread is in relation to the wear bars.

Some tires get much noisier as they age, too, so also give us info per Turbo's post above.

Hey thanks guys for the advices. I've been pretty occupied so i haven't checked the site.

It came out to be that my tires are directional. I had an oil change and was asked if i wanted the tires to be rotated for 20 bucks. I can do it myself obviously and I was going to paint my wheels anyway. Took them off and apparently didn't realize they were directional tires and swap the two fronts, a mistake I won't be making a second time.

I haven't swap it back yet, but I will tomorrow when I am off work.
