Headlight Out
Headlight Out
My driver side HID is out, and for some reason the High Beam is also not working on the driver side. However, the DRL works on both sides.
I am not sure if the ballast has anything to do with high beam...Do you think i sould probably just replace the HID bulb and the high beam bulb? Or what other reasons might there be for the high beam and HID out, but the DRL still working?
Perhaps if the HID is out, the high beam is automatically cut-off? Your thoughts?
Thanks.

TL headlights are bi-xenon means that there is only one HID bulb that provides light for low beam and hi beam. When you turn your high beam on, a solenoid basically pushes the cut off shield down to let all the useable light out of the projector hence creating the high beam light output. If your OEM HID bulb, ballast or ignitor is not working then your high beam wont work either, the solenoid that triggers the shield to come down may be working.
Best way to test the components would be either to swap them with the working ones and or test them by taking them off of the headlights.
DRL wouldnt have anything to do with your low beams working or not working.
