Problem: HARSH ride.
Hey guys,
I've had my TL for about a year and a half and noticed the ride was always the same: harsh, so I thought it was "normal".
My TL is not lowered or anything and as far as I know, on stock suspension.
I took a ride in another TL yesterday and I couldn't believe how smooth it was going over the roads. His car seemed to smoothly go over all the cracks in the road while in my car you feel every crack in the road and everything ids all harsh.
Even going up driveways or entrances make me have to go REALLY slow or else things get harsh.
Any input on what it could be would be appreciated!
My car now has 89k miles.
To me it sounds like something wrong with the suspension.

Mine are 245/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport
His are stockies so probably the same size specified on the door jamb.
His car just feels soooo much more floatier than mine.
The harsh ride makes me feel like I'm driving a lambo or something lol
Even driving up a half inch curb (to enter a parking lot or driveway) is HARSH and bumpy which makes me slow way down.

i have a type s and i dont think the ride is harsh. its a good balance and rides smooth IMO. your base tl should be softer than what i feel. maybe your shocks are going out? shocks are the main factor to how your car rides.

I never had a race car before.
I believe mine are as stiff as the tl-s.
i feel every bump and dip! lol
since its my first race car that I'm modding, it'd be interesting to find the difference with the koni yellows that im installing in the fall

What year was his car? 2007 models have softer shocks and such than the 2004-2006 TL.
Also you had 18's and he had 17's, .5 more inch of sidewall makes a big difference!
Last but not least, you have the Michelin Pilot Sports which are a tire meant to give the driver feedback and not meant to absorb bumps! Tires can Vary GREATLY in softness by their sidewalls. For example the continental DWS has a VERY soft sidewall that soaks up bumps and joints, but a stiffer tire like a Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 is meant for drivers who want every last ounce of feedback and performance.

Thanks for all the suggestions but the weird thing is, even in the winter (on my stockies) with Blizzak LM-60s the ride and bumps and entrances to driveways are always harsh.
^maybe it is the shocks..a Houston member complained to me about a harsh ride....i rode in his car, and I didnt feel a thing. maybe cuz the road we were on was smooth
he bought my friends shocks with h&r springs on it....dont know if he installed it to see if it fixed the problems.

Like all the suggestions on differ tires, maybe you should check out the shocks for any leaks or possible blown out. At your mileage shocks will not go that quickly but you never no.
