I have been running Kaixen 6000k bulbs and love them.

I was driving my '04 TL and noticed my passenger headlight slowing turning green. It stayed green for maybe a hour or so then completely went out. I figured it just burnt out so I ordered a replacement pair. Upon removing the bulb, I was greeted by a burning smell. Seems the bulb basically exploded. I added pictures so you guys can see what I'm talking about. How can I fix this and what could have caused it?

did the bulb blow up or is there an underlying cause?

 

The base of the bulb was the only damaged part. I'm debating getting just the ignitor or ignitor and ballast together.
