Head Light Problem... Help Please!

So my right head light went out. I bought a new bulb thinking that it would fix the problem and I found out that it wasn't the problem. My next step was to take the car to the Acura Dealer and see what they could do for me. 2hrs later after sitting in the waiting center they tell me that I need to replace (Bulb + Ballace + Ignighter.) I ask my self why would why I replace everything when im sure that its only one of those things that could be wrong for example the "Ballace." The dealer wants to charge me $850 + Labor. Anyone have any suggestions? Do you guys recommend me just replace both head light units with some after market HID system?

I've heard of Ballasts going out, but I've never heard of the ignitors going out... I'm not sure if the 3G TL has the ignitors and ballasts integrated together or not, becuase I'm not seeing a part number for the ballasts. Only the Ignitor and the Control Module (unless the control module is the ballast)

But at the dealer linked below, the Ignitor is $163 and the control module is $153

what year tl do you have? my ignitor went bad on my tl and i bought a used one off ebay. i have 2 ignitors, 2 ballasts and 4 oem phillips d2s bulbs available if you want to buy them.

are you handy enough to remove the front bumper and headlight? if so then you can trouble shoot this yourself.

Head Light / Signal Light Issue

I have 2004 TL and driver side Headlight does not work and Passenger side Signal light does not work. My both FOG light also do not work. I did pass through a large puddle of water recently. Any suggestion on where to get this fixed and how much it would cost?

Light Problem

I went through a water puddle that was about 3/4 way up on the wheels recently. My driver side head light did turn on recently once but after I shut off the car and then turned it on again it did not work. I am not pretty sure the driver side headlight has not work except for that 1 time in the last 3 weeks.

wow thats a very deep puddle. you could have damaged the ballasts since they sit on the bottom of the headlight. if they gey water inside them then they will break. check the ballasts for signs of water and rust. atleast start there.

Ok so I went to local mechanic and he said my Ballast or Control MOdule needs to be replaced. Then I went to dealer and the dealer said I need BULB+Ballace+Ignitor repalced (Total $1000). My passeneger side headlight work sometimes so I wanted to see how I could get them working. So, I figured out how to get my Passenger side headlight to work. First drive the car then I would have to use the remote and quickly press the lock and unlock button quickly twice and the passenger side headlight turns on about 7 out of 10 times then I start the car with the key and it stays on. Anyone ever experienced this?

It will die completely eventually.
You can either purchase parts from libert69 (if he still has them for sale) or go aftermarket. Check out DDMTuning or HIDExtra for options and pricing.
