Hazes on Headlights are developing!

Oh snap.... my headlights are developing hazes over them, so far it is minor.

Anyone know of any DIY to remove the hazes, if possible?
It is starting to look bad up close.

Or the only option is to replace them?

there may/should be a diy on here. or u can google it. you don't need a diy specific for the tl. my brother had a similar problem my dad had some aceton stuff in his work truck. worked wonders.. heres a little something i picked up on google:
  1. Recognize that the problem is caused because the outside cover is oxidized and needs the outside surface polished to be clear again.
  2. Wash the outside of the lights with soap and water as you would when washing the rest of your car. Dry. This step will remove the grime and dirt before you start polishing.
  3. Apply an aluminum polishing compound with a dry soft cloth. Put a little compound on it and work it on in small circular motions. Let it dry to a haze. Now, buff the haze off by wiping with a clean towel or cloth.
  4. Repeat the polish and buff steps until clear again. It may need 3 coats or more.
there is other compounds u can use. hope this gives u a start.

$10 DIY kits with a foam buffing ball or disc and some special plastic polishing compound
When done wax them to cut down on the problem

For this I always use Mequiars Cleaner Wax (maroon bottle) with a terry towel. The reason it works is there is a very mild abrasive in it, this is why it's also good for scuffs from door dings, etc.
Guy at work literally drug half his rear door and rear 1/4 panel along the side of his garage ('04 graphite Accord EXL V6) and it looked REALLY bad - just white smears all over from the siding & trim. I offered to hit it with the MCW and I swear, I wish I had taken before & after pics - it's almost totally perfect again. Even the body color side molding, which I thought was toast, seemed to be ground into it, but nope - cleaned & shined that too.
I love this stuff! (sorry to sound like an ad )
