Good to have my car back

After dropping off the car at Acura for the 3rd gear problem, it took about 2 weeks to get this done because they had to wait for parts to come in. So far on the drive home from the dealership, everything seems to be good. I worked at this dealership a few years ago so i chose the tech that I wanted to work on it. I read that a lot of you had problems with it after a week or 2 so we'll see what happens with this.

I had this done a few months ago and all of the forward gears are smooth. However, now I have problems with my reverse gear lockout. Randomly (on rare occasions) my car wont let me shift into revese (even at a dead stop). There were even two occasions where I barely started the car at a supermarket parking lot and my reverse gear lockout was engaged; couldn't back up T-T. I've tried to shift into first, second, third, and fifth gear before trying to shift back to reverse but the car still wont let me pull the shift knob to the far right. I find that I have to either 1. try to gas and creep up a foot or two in first gear before stopping and engaging in reverse or 2. turn the engine off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.

I addressed this problem to the dealership, but they tell me "it's characteristic of the car to do this."

Anyone else having these problems? It's quite embarassing when I cant parallel park because I don't have a reverse gear.
