gear selector / console Bulb?

I searched and checked out the garage but I did not find anything regarding replacing the gear selector bulb. once the console is removed, how do you remove the actual selector indicator where the bulb is located? Is it possible to replace the bulb without removing selector indicator trim (#12)?

Yes, it is possible. I had it torn down this weekend to find a rattle from the shift lock. The bulb is on the driver side of #12 shown. However, removing 12 is very easy once you get to where you need to be to replace it. 12 just has 4 clips and lifts easily off the shifter assembly

You need to remove the carbon fiber/wood panel around the shifter, and from there, the bulb is very easy to see/replace.

There might be an easier way to get to it, but from what I saw while digging.. I cant imagine how.

yours seem to be a little different being an '07, but I'm sure it's the same process. I plan to remove the console and replace my navi button bulbs, so i will do this at the same time. I can remove #14 very easily and get right to #12, but I don't think #12 can be lifted without removing the console.

Thanks for the info.
