I drive 2005 TL. And i timed the miles on the car from full tank - empty. The reading i got was 210 miles out of the car. I have changed the Air filter and oil... put in the fuel cleaner also.. Can some one help me find out...What is wrong with this car...

 

do you drive city?
highway?
heavy foot?
lots of stop and go?
using premium gas?

what does your MID display say under MPG?

if all else fails, try this.

 

Never gotten as little as 210. Even when I did drive all city with a heavy foot and quick starts and stops...

 

First, do a real mileage check then report your results.

 

Im far from a mechanic but I just recently had some work done on my car. While my mechanic friend was replacing the gaskets for the intake manifold he noticed that the o-rings to the fuel injectors were worn/torn. He said that would definitely affect my fuel mileage. I was only getting around 230-250 miles a tank doing mostly highway driving. I also have a 05 so maybe that could be your issue. Good luck

 

As some of us always ask, what does the MID say is your average MPH? I doubt that there is anything wrong with the car but bet the MPH is down in the 20s.

Also, how much gas are you pumping when the tank is empty- I trust that is about 17 gallons if the tank is actually empty as you claim.

 

just because the gas light comes on does not mean the tank is close to empty. The light comes on when their is just under 3.5 gallons left.
