Gas Needle For The Fuel Gauge Stuck Below "E" !!!

I'm having a couple issues with my fuel gauge. The needle is stuck below E and the Gas light is on beneath it. It's been like this for a while now, but I've been ignoring it. Everytime I put gas in thr car, the needle stay stuck on E. All of the other Gauges in the car work except the Gas needle. Any ideas on what's wrong or how to fix this ? I already tried replacing the fuel pump and that didnt work. I also tried sweeping the gauges and they all sweep including the fuel gauge. I changed the cluster and the new one did the same thing. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH IT???

P.S the gas mileage thing in the after the Trip Computer that tells how much miles is left for the amount of gas also reads --- so i have no idea how much gas is in my Car. PLEASE HELP!!!

Amazing what you can find with Google.

Trouble Code: B1175

Fuel Level Sensor (Fuel Gauge Sending Unit) Circuit Open
Possible Causes:

Loose or poor connections between the Gauge Control Module and the Fuel Tank Unit

Faulty Fuel Gauge Sending Unit
Gauge Control Module

Sending unit is part of the fuel pump.

And I learn something new everyday....I have that screen name for a reason ya know?

Did you do the rest of the diagnostic tests in the other thread?

So if the sending unit is part of the pump which has already been replaced, to me it seems like the next steps are to track the rest of the electrical path. Check the connector at the fuel pump...and well, yeah, I have no clue past that. Hopefully some of the other guys that dig in deeper on their cars will chime in eventually.

Certainly sounds like a bad ground or loose connection somewhere. Start at the guage and work your way back.

When you say you already replaced the cluster, I assume you mean the gauge control module?

According to the service manual, you need to an HDS to rewrite the ODO data to the new GCM? pg 22-265.
