you cant tell anything by the gas guage.
Fill it up, reset the trip meter, drive it approx 300-340 miles until the low fuel warning light comes on at about 3 gallons remaining. Refill tank to first auto shut-off of the pump
miles divided by gallons gives your answer.
The first few tanks on a TL always go fast- then you stop using Vtec so much~

gas mileage?

I get about 20 mpg in mixed mode (average 28-30 mph; highway and city driving in mostly stop-and-go traffic, thus poor mileage). But I got 31 mph on trip from Dallas to Providence, RI. If you drive it like you stole it, you'll not get 25 mpg in city driving. Hope this helps you enjoy your TL even more (knowing that gas mileage isn't as great for other TL owners as well).

21 MPG, according to the compooter... That's combined, and it's only got 300 miles on it. I'd expect it to go up some, and I'll be doing some manual calculations as well. Either way, doesn't matter... I went from a Trailblazer SS - about 12MPG combined - so anything is going to be good with me!

My '05 TL with 43K miles gets 19-20 in city driving (NW Chicago 'burbs) and 27-28 on the interstate.

I have an 04 TL with the 5AT. The car has 56K miles on the odometer.

I filled up the other day and took this picture 30 min after leaving the station. I reset my trip MID BEFORE I start the car right after I fill up.

The next day after a mixture of city/highway driving... starts and stops - and parking the car for the night I was still getting 31MPG.

Starts/stops and your average speed stays the same?
I like the TSX trip better, it resets everytime you turn off the ignition.

Yup. You have to keep in mind my commute to work is on all 2 lane country roads. In Ohio the speed limit is 55mph on those roads. My house is currently right off that state route - thus making acceleration up to 60mph and setting the cruise very easy.

My speed drops when I enter stop and go traffic by my work. There are 10 lights within a 2-3 mile span of road... Speed limit on that road is also 35mph. Cops make there living on speeding tickets up there so I don't push it. After that 3 mile stretch I'm on an actually freeway where the speed limit is 65mph. Traffic usually flows between 70-75.

My one way commute looks like this:

55mph for 7 miles
45mph for 2 miles
55mph for 4 miles
45mph for 2 miles
55mph for 6 miles
40mph for 5 miles
55mph for 8 miles
45mph for 2 miles
35mph for 3 miles
65mph for 6 miles
35mph for 1 miles
