I just bought my 2008 tl with 67k miles on it. The car is quick and drives nice but I keep getting an intermittent tighten gas cap light even after shuting the engine off all night and physically cranking down on the gas cap.

Thanks I did look at these bulletins and found something on the gas cap I may go after if it continues.

And do a search on ". Gas Cap" , you will find numerous threads.

 

Most likely you will need to replace your gas cap and your evap canister purge valve - i have fixed a number of 04-08 tl's with gas cap lights by doing this- what the gas cap light means is that the ecm has detected a evap leak and what it does is turn on the gas cap light on the first drive cycle when a leak is detected and on the second drive cycle when the leak is detected the gas cap light will turn off and the cel/mil will turn on -
