Seriously though I've never smelled a burning smell after WOT. I would suggest checking for a exhaust leak.

hmmmm. an exhaust leak or smell wouldnt be coming out of the air vents.
and I dont think it would smell like its burning/burnt smell.

and the OP ruled out a slipping clutch because he is AUTO.

hmmmmmmmm.

just thinking outloud here:
I'm still on trannies....
it could be possible that your auto tranny is emitting that smell after a hard RPM run.
tires...brakes.
hmmmm

the engine would not emit a burnt smell either.....

if the smell is of rotten eggs (sulfur) then it's normal. It's the catalysts getting soaked in fuel and carbon build-up that's being blown out of the motor. Most honda's have this when new or when not pushed hard for a VERY long time.

although not exactly same issue, i do smell something smokey / old car smell from my vent..
this is regardless of ac on/off or circulation on/off...
this happens without WOT or anything related to fuel burning, etc
i will go check tomorrow at the shop.. but doesn't smell like mold either..

if it's auto i would check the condition of the fluid. Any smoke coming from the transmission area?

I fried my parent's Odyssey transmission going up a hill.

Cool thats what i was told, recently by a friend mechanic, but do you know if it has any long term effects with the cat or the carbon build up, or any solution to fixing smell coming out???

Lol. Its not really the cats but rather higher NOx emissions under heavy throttle. Its normal to smell it when behind the car. Smelling it inside the car means you have an exhaust leak. A slight variation of this smell is what I would look for to figure out who was running nitrous and trying to be sneaky at the street races.
