Hey all, here my problem: every time i start my car in the morning i get a funny wining sound from this part in my engine. you can see the part in the video below! i think it has something to do with the power steering fluid. IF the car is cold and i turn my wheels this funny sounds come from my hood. This is very hard to duplicate at the dealer as i would have to drive there and by the time i get there the engine and all fluids are warm enough .Hope someone can help!
btw is an 2004 with about 73k miles.

 

Kind of hard to tell because the sound doesn't carry well through the video, but if I had to guess, I'd say you have a bearing going out in one of your pulleys.

Time for a lightweight upgrade

 

it's the power steering system...i have the same issue, gotta get it looked at. I spoke to a mechanic that knows hondas/acuras and he told me there is a gasket that gets old and will eventually let air in when cold...once it warms up and expands a little, it no longer lets air in and the whining subsides.

 

ok i have no idea as to mechanics, so what would be my nxt step, to be honest i dnt really would like to bring it to acura! they overcharge for everything. what would i need to buy to replace the bad bearing
