My message panel is displaying, TIGHTEN FUEL CAP. I have already checked and double checked. The Fuel Cap is as tight as can get....does anyone know anything bout this or has anyone else had this issue?

 

Some people said it takes a "while" for that message to disappear once cap is re-tightened.

Otherwise, there's problem somewhere along fuelline.

 

I'm guessin there is no set timing for a "while"???

Its started this morning. And I pulled over and tightened it, but the message didnt go away. I got to work, then went to work and the message was still on.

 

If the problem is corrected, then it will take three driving cycles. A driving cycle is starting a cold engine and driving it to operating temp. The car has to do this three times with no problems and the light will go off.

 

You may need to visit the dealership to have the EVAP test.

Ohh yea wat I meant earlier was I got to work, then went to lunch and it was still on. But hey thanks for the info.
