Front passenger wheel hops when accelerating from a stop

When the car is stopped and I accelerate hard (about 50% throttle) but not hard enough to spin the tires, the front passenger wheel feels like it hops. When I accelerate smooth, you don't feel it. Once the car is moving, it goes away. It only hops ONCE.

Car runs smooth. I've checked the axle, rim, tire, tie rod, shock, fork, ball joints, uca, and lca and they're all fine and theres no play. Any idea why it hops? Only hops once when I accelerate kinda hard from a stop.

Looks like you didn't check your motor mounts. Check the passenger one, I'm betting its shot.

Just checked the mount. The rubber cover on top is ripped up. Gonna change the mount and see.

Car doesn't vibrate or anything either. Doesn't feel like the motor shakes. Just shakes when accelerating hard enough from a stop.

I checked the compliance bushing and theres no play but it does look like it has slight rips. Driver side looks the same but the driver side feels fine. They're only about $40 from Acura so I think I'm gonna go ahead and change those as well.

The cover on the mount does not indicate the state of the mount, but if the cover is ripped, often the mount isn't so good anymore. Can't hurt changing it, anyway.

Agree....to note, I don't think the cover on my side mount was cracked, but when I took it apart, the mount itself was clearly bad with the center post being completely broken away from the rubber.

Swapped it out today. Got rid of the shake and the clunking noise.

wow... was it THAT bad when you pulled it out, or did you shred it just a little extra for the dramatic effect on AZ?

I'm glad my suggestion fixed it!

Haha, I really doubt he shredded it - I helped a local member change his side mount too and it was just as bad as this one.

I would recommend replacing ALL of the other mounts. that broken one caused stress on the rest of them.
