Front Passenger Power Window
I am in need of some advice. I have an 04 TL and I am out of the warranty. Today I discovered that my front passenger window will not open. When I hit the button, I can hear a click but nothing moves...doesn't even try to move. Any advice? I spoke with customer care from Acura and I don't think they are willing to help out with this...

never believe a word those people at the 800 number say- they are NOT techs- or acura owners- they are just phone answering people who read from a book of answers about whats covered under warranty, and write down a note for a real manager to call you back.
Speaking with the Service Manager gets much more action and info- like, is this happening to many people? Will they goodwill replace it for you?
Was there soda spilled near the switch? making it fail?
Remove the door panel and look for a plastic piece that connects the actuator. Most likely snapped/broken, but may have just popped off somehow- like if someone played with the window while in operation ( I am thinking how kids push on stuff)
Possible the roller (plastic) got broken, or the motor died
Thats my best guess as to a fix, based on what I have encountered over the years working on cars

Yes, that was the first thing I checked. I noticed it didn't work because i opened the windows with my remote....the passenger one was the one that didn't open. I don't know if it was the heat that is affecting it...its damn hot in texas already...luckily its working now...
No I just have to go get my recall stuff done...found out the previous owner never got the stuff fixed.

recall!! free stuff and a loaner car!!!!!!
Mention the window and ask if any recall/warranty on it, or if any TSB issued??
tech service bulletin,, the dealers get from acura for odd probs and fixes

Does the clicking noise come from the window/door itself?

I'd be interested to know if anybody else has this as well.
I have something similar, but i's not exactly the same problem. Periodically, my driver's side window act;s funny when trying to roll it UP.
When I hit the button for auto up, it will go up halfway, then click and go back down. It seems to happen sporadically for a few days then it will go away for months.

Just found this web site. I have an 06 TL with 6 spd manual. I was looking up other stuff but found this thread and wanted to respond as I too have the unpredictable passenger window that goes up part way and then back down. has been doing it for 2 years, but not all the time.
As A side note. I was at the dealer yesterday for other stuff. Talked to a sales person about a standard TL (not SH, not AWD, no tech package) and getting it with a manual trans. I was told that they get this request from time to time but that a lot more people need to be inquiring before Acura will put it in a new car. they are now talking about this option for 2014 so everyone please go to your dealer and ask about a base TL with Manual!!! Thanks!!!

Lasted for nearly two years and died again. Just a click when I try to put passenger window down. Ironically the same thing happened last week on the driver's side also, but started working again the next day. Might be time to replace both motors.

could be the window was off the track. could be bad actuator. could be fuse/electric. could be loose plug into the window control button.
If you have tools i would take off the inner door panel and take a look at the window and make sure its on the track. If it is, you may consider installing a new acutator

I came to the forum to ask about the exact question posited originally in this thread, and saw it was already asked, but the answer is not entirely clear.
The passenger front window on the new to me 07 TL makes a short, quiet "click" and nothing else when pressing the window button. It seems this should be a relatively well known symptom of a specific problem. EG, bad switch vs bad actuator vs bad track, etc.
Anyone with more info than a simple guess?
I'd like a notion before taking the panel out as the time I would like this to be under repair needs to be minimized.
Thanks.

How can anyone give you a difinitive answer over the internet. If the window doesnt work 9.9/10 to solve you need to take the panel off. If you arent willing or able to do this then your solution is this:
Take to shop and pay someone else to do that
