Front headlight housing parking lights not working

I just bought an 05 TL. When I turn on the parking lights, shouldn't the yellow lights come on? The come on when I use the hazards or turn signals, but they don't light up when I turn on the parking lights or headlights.

Also, the yellow headlights/non-HID lights work, but shouldn't they work in the parking light setting also? They only work when I turn on the headlights.

Is this normal? If not, what could be wrong with them?

Thanks for any help

Your parking light/turn signal bulb is out.
The bulb is 7443. It has two filaments inside the bulb.
One for parking light, and one for signal. Your parking light filament is out.
You'll need to replace the bulb.

The "non-HID" headlights you're talking about are your fog lights.
They don't normally come on in the parking light setting.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info... Now the next question will be on how to access the headlights to change them. Without digging around, they seem like they are going to suck to change.

Changing headlights? Or the bulbs?

Either way, both are done when the bumper is off the car.

There are people that have changed the HID bulbs without removing the front bumper, but it's really hard to get the HID cover off, especially when there's a security torx screw. Not to mention you might bang up the bulb trying to get the bulb in and out.

I just discovered that the driver-side parking light on my car isn't working either but it still works as a turn signal. I did not realize that it's a dual-filament bulb. I'm glad I searched and found this thread before starting a new topic.

The owner's manual states that you can access the parking light/turn signal bulb by removing the fender liner (pgs. 228-229 in my '06 manual). I'm going to try that method.

Although it's not necessary, I typically replace bulbs in pairs where applicable for a couple of reasons:

1) I've found that tinted non-OEM bulbs usually don't shine with the same color as OEM bulbs (e.g. a lighter shade of orange).

2) When one bulb burns out, its matching equivalent usually isn't too far behind.

Being that the turn signal housing on the TL is orange, I assume that the proper 7443 bulb is clear?

An orange bulb is best.

As far as changing that bulb, you can indeed remove the fender liner (only partially - a complete removal isn't necessary). Then you'll have to blindly stick your arm in there until you touch something. Keep touching and wiggling things until you see the turn signal wiggle. When you've reached the turn signal, twist it, and pull it out. Pull out the bulb from its socket, replace with the new bulb, and put it back in its bracket.

Changing any bulb on this car is a royal pain in the ass! I went to change my parking light and said eff it, wasnt in the mood. Luckily I had to get my timing belt and water pump changed at the dealership and had them take care of that too. It was like $30, def worth it

Another bulb issue I have are several buttons no longer light up:

1) Passenger seat heater control button
2) Trunk release button
3) VSA button
4) Hang-up/end-call button
5) The "back" button behind the end-call button
6) Sunroof button
7) The "Max" brightness button for the gauges

The dealer quote more than $300 to replace these bulbs!
